Thomas J. Benenati, DPM
Dr. Benenati moved to Colorado in 1978 after completing his 2nd year medical/surgical residency program in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was born and raised in New York and his undergraduate degree is from Albright College, Reading, PA. He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Benenati is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Podiatric Foot and Ankle Surgery and is a Fellow, American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
He opened his practice in Lakewood in 1978 for the medical and surgical care of the foot and ankle. During that time he also had special emphasis on sports medicine not only in his private practice but also as a consultant at many athletic clubs in Lakewood and Denver.
Dr. Benenati was also involved as a guest lecturer and with the training of surgical residents at Highlands Center Hospital in Denver. He has also lectured at many physician groups over the years. He was selected as the Podiatrist for Coors Health Clinic and has been asked to join several physician groups to provide podiatry care for various primary care physicians’ patients. He is a certified workman’s compensation provider. In 1982, Dr. Benenati was a founder of Allied Foot & Ankle Clinics.
Dr. Benenati is married and has two children in college. He enjoys playing guitar, piano, skiing with his family and a major emphasis on golf. He has been passionate about running over the past 35 years and you may even find a picture in the Lakewood office of him running in Denver’s first marathon.
